Initiate, Impact, Inspire – the imMENse challenge!

The imMENse team grew further this year with the addition of Matt Coomes, plus Jean-Phi on an ad hoc basis bringing us the benefit of his deep wisdom and Gallic flair.

Events included a misty walk on the Mendips followed by an excellent pub lunch in Compton Martin. Unfortunately the far reaching views failed to materialise, but at least we didn’t get lost (well only a bit). A hardy group joined 1,500 other men under canvas in a field near Swindon for "The Gathering 2014", an excellent and challenging weekend featuring inspirational testimony and teaching, awesome worship sessions, 5-a-side football, comedy (some of it intentional), dodgy catering (no veggie option) and Chris Gilson’s amazing inflatable armchair.  In October we went back to St Georges in Georgeham, North Devon for a weekend away during which our thoughts were guided by Dave Russell on the theme of ‘Better Together’ during which he introduced us to the concept of the ‘7 habits of a mature person’, and the need for us to keep each other on track in the faith.

The now famous Operation Warbler took place again in December, singing Christmas Carols and making ourselves known in various pubs in Midsomer Norton, although with slightly depleted numbers due to a combination of illness and other engagements.

The start of 2015 has been a little quieter but we are looking forward to The Gathering again in June, organising a 5-a-side tournament at Nfest in August, and another trip to Georgeham in October (speaker to be confirmed). Our challenge remains to initiate more and better relationships within our fellowship and with those outside it, to impact more men with Jesus’ message and to inspire others to stand in the gap with us.

Welcome

Who are we?

members
We are a church of people from all walks of life who share the common goal of following Jesus and being open about Him with others in our everyday lives. The church is vibrant with lots going on for people of all ages and backgrounds. We’re engaged in local and global mission, and passionately believe that every person has a part to play. We follow Christian Bible teaching, believing it’s through a loving relationship with Jesus Christ that we can experience life in its fullest and have the security of knowing we’ll live forever with God.

We’re part of the local Baptist Association and we are members of the Evangelical Alliance, and regularly connect with the local Churches in our area for prayer and community outreach.

Head to our 'What's on' tab to check out how you can get involved with us.

What is our vision?

We are a Church with a clear vision. It's sourced in the Bible and expressed in these simples phrases:

Coming up images
The 'how' we do these things is a bigger story and one you can learn about by checking out other pages on our site. God has called each of us to be a part of His mission in this life, full of purpose, and confident as His sons and daughters. It's a vision we would love for you to explore with us. Church is not just about Sundays, and we aim to see our faith in Jesus impact every part of our lives, and those around us.
