Sharons wed voltage S4 181 225Voltage (Wednesday) Year Book Report

Voltage 100dpi
Wednesday Voltage is a social time for our 11-14 year olds, often with bible based games and activities and we always end the evening with a time of sharing and praying for each other.  These evenings provide opportunities for the young people from church to bring their friends, or for those who are on the fringe of church life to come along.  It’s been encouraging to have a good solid core of young people who are becoming more involved in church life.
We take part in a wide variety of activities throughout the year, some of which include, ‘The Big Voltage Bake Off’, a Scavenger Hunt, First Aid training, Pizza in the Park, and our annual end of school year disco in conjunction with superchargers. We’ve recently moved to the top floor of the Town Hall which provides us with additional space and opportunities for more active indoor games.  We usually have a trip out each term and these have included swimming, bowling and a visit to the forum in Bath for the Big Church Night in to see Martin Smith and Leeland in concert.
We like to get involved in many of the events that the wider church are doing and a group of us had an amazing morning in the High Street before Easter where we took part in the acts of generosity. The young people gave away chocolate and sweets and came away with some fantastic stories of how sharing God’s love impacted them and those they met.  The ladies in the barbers returned the kindness with cakes and a man passed his chocolate on to someone else to share the kindness –encouraging stuff!
N’fest 2014 saw many from the group involved during the children’s morning club.  From this they were keen to take a more active role in the planning phase, so have been regularly attending the planning meetings for this summer’s event.  They’ve had some super ideas and suggestions which they will be backing up with actions as they help out at N’fest in various roles in August.
We continue to support 2 areas of mission.  Overseas we have sent children’s gifts and toiletries to Kerin and Emi for their work in Marasesti with the Roma community.  At home we support Julian House, a homeless charity in Bath.  It was good to have their fundraising co-ordinator join us to share about the charity’s work and back in March a group of us slept out under the stars as part of the Big Bath Sleep Out fundraiser.  There was a serious side to the night and a good experience to be out in the elements but we had lots of fun and through sponsorship raised just over £400!
We love spending time with this group.  They’re completely crazy, noisy and dare I say sometimes infuriating but they’re also compassionate, sensitive and loving.  It’s an absolute pleasure to share our lives and faith together in Voltage.

Welcome

Who are we?

members
We are a church of people from all walks of life who share the common goal of following Jesus and being open about Him with others in our everyday lives. The church is vibrant with lots going on for people of all ages and backgrounds. We’re engaged in local and global mission, and passionately believe that every person has a part to play. We follow Christian Bible teaching, believing it’s through a loving relationship with Jesus Christ that we can experience life in its fullest and have the security of knowing we’ll live forever with God.

We’re part of the local Baptist Association and we are members of the Evangelical Alliance, and regularly connect with the local Churches in our area for prayer and community outreach.

Head to our 'What's on' tab to check out how you can get involved with us.

What is our vision?

We are a Church with a clear vision. It's sourced in the Bible and expressed in these simples phrases:

Coming up images
The 'how' we do these things is a bigger story and one you can learn about by checking out other pages on our site. God has called each of us to be a part of His mission in this life, full of purpose, and confident as His sons and daughters. It's a vision we would love for you to explore with us. Church is not just about Sundays, and we aim to see our faith in Jesus impact every part of our lives, and those around us.
