We are passionate about children growing in faith, experiencing God, developing friendships, and being a part of our church family. We would love to have you with us! Read on to find out more. (We also have youth groups that you can find out about here.)

Midweek groups

Sunbeams
Sunbeams meets every Tuesday, 9am - 10.45am at St John's Church Hall. This group is a great space for parents/carers and their 0 to 4-year-olds to connect. We normally have singing, snacks, story time, crafts, toys and a cuppa for the adults.

Dynochargers
Dynochargers is a group for children aged 6 to year 6 that meet every Wednesday from 7pm - 8pm. We are a high energy, fun and exciting group that host a wide range of games and activities including a variety of crafts, family nights, baking, football, marshmallow catapults, silent discos, parachute games, messy games, talent nights, snacks, fantastic conversations and tonnes more! We also have a free parents café, so, if your child loves fun, and you love relaxing for an hour, we would love to have you join us.

Sunday groups

Sunbeams
Sunbeams is for ages 0 to pre-school and takes place during our 11am service in school term times (including half terms). After joining the main service for the first 15-20 minutes, you are welcome to take your child into the other space with the Sunbeams team where we help teach the children some biblical stories through the remit of play, singing, stories and crafts. You are welcome to stay and play with us, however, we aim to support your child to feel comfortable with our team so that you can leave them and return to the service. If you would rather stay with your child in the service, we have a small creche area in the main meeting area at our 9am and 11am services.

Bright Sparks, Dynamos and Superchargers
Our Sunday Energy Kids groups are for children in Reception - Year 6 and take place during our 11am service in school term times. After joining the main service for the first 15-20 minutes, the children and the Energy Kids leaders then move into the other space for worship, games, crafts, drama, group activities and more! We then separate into three groups to look at a story from the Bible, before coming together again at the end to pray.

Bright Sparks group – Reception to Year 2

Dynamos group – Year 3 to Year 4

Superchargers group – Years 5 to Year 6

Summer

During the summer holidays, we pause our midweek and Sunday Energy Kids groups. On Sundays, we meet together as one church family at our 11am service.

In August, we also have a kids club called N’Fest. N’Fest is a FREE week of fun for all ages. Each morning, we have a kids club for children aged 4-11 with songs, messy games, prizes, challenges, dramas, stories and more. Everyone is welcome to stay in our cafe, where there is also a crèche for 0-4 year olds. In the afternoons/evenings, we host a range of FREE events for all ages. We would love to see you there! To find out more, keep an eye on our website or get in touch with us by clicking here.

SEND
We are passionate about being inclusive and have people on our volunteer team with specialist skills in special and additional needs. We are striving to be a church that welcomes every child, no matter what challenges they may experience.

Safeguarding
Welton Baptist Church takes child protection very seriously. No-one is allowed to volunteer in any of our children's or young people's groups without having been through a strict vetting procedure including a DBS check. We have a clear policy in place if a child or young person discloses information to any of our volunteers, and we have an obligation to pass on any concerns we may have over a child's or young person's wellbeing. We seek to act sensitively at all times. To find out more about our safeguarding policy, click here.

Welcome

Who are we?

members
We are a church of people from all walks of life who share the common goal of following Jesus and being open about Him with others in our everyday lives. The church is vibrant with lots going on for people of all ages and backgrounds. We’re engaged in local and global mission, and passionately believe that every person has a part to play. We follow Christian Bible teaching, believing it’s through a loving relationship with Jesus Christ that we can experience life in its fullest and have the security of knowing we’ll live forever with God.

We’re part of the local Baptist Association and we are members of the Evangelical Alliance, and regularly connect with the local Churches in our area for prayer and community outreach.

Head to our 'What's on' tab to check out how you can get involved with us.

What is our vision?

We are a Church with a clear vision. It's sourced in the Bible and expressed in these simples phrases:

Coming up images
The 'how' we do these things is a bigger story and one you can learn about by checking out other pages on our site. God has called each of us to be a part of His mission in this life, full of purpose, and confident as His sons and daughters. It's a vision we would love for you to explore with us. Church is not just about Sundays, and we aim to see our faith in Jesus impact every part of our lives, and those around us.
