Prayer @ Welton

Prayer is an integral part of our life at Welton Baptist Church. We recognise our need for God and for His continued help and guidance, not only to nourish and sustain our church life, but to be the impetus behind our mission and outreach to our community and to our world.  As is all things, Jesus is our model for ministry and we want to follow His example and increasingly become a people who are passionate about prayer.

We currently follow these prayer initiatives;

‘The Hour To Pray’- this is our Welton Baptist Church Prayer Blog and can be accessed on-line at This is a weekly blog resource aimed to help shape, encourage and inspire prayer with a range stories, testimonies, scriptural foundations and tools for prayer- it is linked to our 24/7 prayer initiative which forms part of our prayer response to the present global crisis.

Church and House group Prayer Chains’ - these are used for urgent prayer requests within the church fellowship and are done mainly via text.

’The Prayer Diary’ - (only viewable to logged in members of our website), is a monthly roundup of items for Prayer and Praise in our fellowship and further afield.

The idea of the Prayer Diary is to inform the fellowship about who to pray for on a regular basis. It performs a different function from the Church and House Group prayer chains and does not replace these.  Items in the diary are usually for important but non-urgent situations where we can petition / give thanks for specific groups or individuals.

'The Prayer Room - An opportunity for corporate prayer as we meet together every 3rd Sunday of the month at 6.30pm to 7.15pm.  The emphasis for these evenings will be a time of praise and thanksgiving, led intercessory prayer, time to listen to God and an opportunity to feed back anything that we believe God has spoken.

‘Prayer Points’ - Sometimes we can struggle to know how and what to pray…. you may find some of the tools on the Prayer Points page useful.
