Prayer @ Welton

Prayer is an integral part of our life at Welton Baptist Church. We recognise our need for God and for His continued help and guidance, not only to nourish and sustain our church life, but to be the impetus behind our mission and outreach to our community and to our world. As is all things, Jesus is our model for ministry and we want to follow His example and increasingly become a people who are passionate about prayer.
In normal circumstances, we gather to pray on the first Thursday of every month at 8.00pm at our chapel on West Road. We also pray before our church meetings at Somervale School and have a prayer ministry team to support people in prayer, often at the end of our meetings.
In the current circumstances precipitated by Covid-19, we still continue to pray! Clearly we are not able to meet together but people can join in with the following prayer initiatives;
Wednesdays 8.00pm- ‘Anchor and Stars’- Our church family pray at this time in their own homes. Direction and pointers for prayer are provided weekly by Jean-Phi and Sally Petit.
‘The Hour To Pray’- this is our Welton Baptist Church Prayer Blog and can be accessed on-line at weltonbaptistchurch.wordpress.com. This is a weekly blog resource aimed to help shape, encourage and inspire prayer with a range stories, testimonies, scriptural foundations and tools for prayer- it is linked to our 24/7 prayer initiative which forms part of our prayer response to the present global crisis.
Our 24/7 prayer sign/up can be found at www.weltonchurch.org.uk/24/7prayer. We encourage people to sign up for as little or as much as they feel able to give as we continue to press into God- seeking to encounter Him more deeply as we pray for our families, communities, nation, and world- praying for a breakthrough and for His Kingdom to come in these challenging days.
